Test Types: how does it work?

Modified on Tue, 16 Jan at 10:45 AM

  • All Audiqueen test types allow to add documents manually.  For this, check the Manual Input Only in the Format window of the test and use the Manual Input button in the Ribbon
  • Alternatively, all Audiqueen test types have the option to open software that is connected to a measuring device (machine). The software is often proprietary third-party software that comes with the machine.  For some test types, Audiqueen can use several own built-in modules that connect to machines.  The software returns either the raw data or preformatted reports (pdf) to Audiqueen where the results are readily available for display and analysis.

Examples

Audiometry

The software to perform audiometry is the proprietary (third party) software that comes with the audiometer.

It is selected in the FORMAT window of the Audiometry test type, for instance, Interacoustic suites (Affinity, Equinox, Diagnostic, Callisto,...), Inventis software, Madsen’s Orbiter, Otometrics’ Otosuite, Resonance, MedRX,...

This software performs the test on the connected machine (audiometer) and returns the raw data to Audiqueen.

Speech Audiometry

The software to perform speech audiometry is selected in the FORMAT window of the Speech Audiometry test type.

It is typically Audiqueen’s built-in Sound Delivery module that is chosen because of its user-friendly and comprehensive features.

In this case, the stimuli (words/sentences) are produced by Audiqueen by means of your computer's soundcard and sent to the AUX entry of the audiometer.  Scoring is done in Audiqueen’s speech audiometry module.

Alternatively, one can choose the proprietary (third party) software that comes with the audiometer.  In that case, this software performs the test on the connected machine (audiometer) and returns the raw data to Audiqueen.

The connected machine is typically the unspecified audiometer, as selected in the test execution window...

... or a specific audiometer selected in the proprietary (third party) software.

Impedance Measures

The software to perform tympanometry is selected in the FORMAT window of the Impedance test type.

It is typically the proprietary (third party) software that comes with the tympanometer, for instance, Interacoustics suites (Diagnostic, Titan), GSI Instrument Service, Otometrics’ Otosuite, Grason-Stadler’s Tympstar/GSI33

Built-in test types (A§E)
The software to run the tests is Audiqueen's built-in Sound Delivery module.  This is automatically selected by Audiqueen and cannot be changed. The connected machine is typically the unspecified audiometer, as selected in the test execution window...

Other audiological or vestibular tests

These test types are similar to Custom Tests.  This means that they are performed with third-party software and dedicated machines (e.g. for ABR, OAE, ENG, etc).

For this, set and configure Audiqueen’s built-in Easy File Fetcher module in the test’s FORMAT window.

In this case, Audiqueen opens the third-party software, you perform the test, make a test report and after closing the software, Audiqueen automatically imports the test report.

The connected machine is selected in the proprietary (third party) software.

Rhinomanometry/
Acoustic Rhinometry

The software to perform these rhinological tests is selected in the FORMAT window of the corresponding test types.

It is typically the proprietary (third party) software that comes with the rhino(mano)meter, for instance, GM Instrument’s Naris.

The connected machine is selected in the proprietary (third party) software.

Video/Sound

Audiqueen comes with a built-in Multimedia Capture module.  This module captures images, movies, and sound from endoscopes, microscopes, video otoscopes, microphones, etc.  This module is selected in the FORMAT window of the test type.

The camera first needs to be connected to your computer.  Then it is selected in Audiqueen’s Multimedia Capture Module.

Documents

Documents of all kinds (pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ...) can be added as test results.

Documents are then added manually (browse and upload or copy-paste).

Documents can also be entered with a document scanner. For this, set and configure Audiqueen’s built-in Easy File Fetcher module in the test’s FORMAT window.

The document scanner first needs to be connected to your computer.  Then its proprietary software is selected in the configuration of the Easy File Fetcher.
