Speech Audiometry Stimulus Material Details

Modified on Thu, 25 Apr at 4:10 PM

For each speech audiometry list, it is possible to set a number of features, such as which index to be used to summarize the test results, or which noise to be used when performing speech audiometry in noise.

Go to the Format window of the speech audiometry test and click the Manage stimulus materials button.

Now select the speech stimulus and click Edit ...

... to open the Speech Audiometry Stimulus Material Details window.

1. Default index to summarize a specific speech audiometry test result

You may want a particular speech audiometric test to be summarised by a particular index.  For example, you may want a Spondee test to have an SRT index and a test of monosyllabic words to have a phoneme discrimination score.  This is easy to do.

In the Speech Audiometry Stimulus Material Details window, check the option ‘Use a specific index to summarize results obtained with this stimulus and pick the index you wish to connect to this test.  You can select a different index for the test in quiet and the test in noise.

If you want to impose this index whenever this test is being displayed, make sure the proper checkbox is checked in the format window.

2. Default noise to be used whenever the test is performed in background noise

You can perform any speech audiometric test with any noise signal available in Audiqueen.  See the related FAQ page.  In practice, however, you will often prefer to use a particular noise signal with a particular speech list.  Therefore, you can specify a default noise signal per speech audiometric list.

In the same Speech Audiometry Stimulus Material Details window, you can select a default noise to be used whenever this speech list is used for testing in noise.

Audiqueen will now automatically select this noise signal when you wish to perform a speech test in noise with this specific speech list, while still allowing you to select another noise if desired.

This feature is not available in the web viewer.
Audiqueen's web viewer displays the results entered in Audiqueen's Workstations.
