After installing A§E 2009 it may happen that you receive an error message "Unable to Load Centre: Specified cast is not valid".
If you encounter this error, it means the Asse.Settings file does not contain a reference to your Centre ID and Centre File Location.
To resolve this issue, delete the Asse.Settings file which is located in:
  • C:\Users\Public\Asse on Windows 7 and Vista
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Asse on Windows XP

After deleting this file and restarting A§E, you will be prompted to create a new centre file, or to load a centre file from disk or shared network folder. 
After completing these steps you should be able to go through the calibration procedure and start using A§E 2009.
